Type One is a personal zine that shares reflections, stories, and interviews about growing up in a family of type 1 diabetics. In my family of six, three of us, including myself, live with diabetes, creating a childhood and family dynamic that was both unique and deeply interconnected. Living with diabetes requires structure and routine to maintain a healthy lifestyle, which influenced my use of grids throughout the zine to evoke a clinical, medical feel and show the restricting nature that T1D can sometimes feel like. This zine allowed me to share and reflect on my experienced while reminding other people with T1D that they are not alone. 5 x 8.5 inches 32 pages
